Point of Care
Efficient laboratory diagnostics are indispensable in medical routine. Consequently, the number of laboratory tests performed in the field of primary care in hospitals and practices is continuously increasing. Unfortunately, patients often have to wait a long time until the results will be available from the laboratory. Therefore, physicians require rapid test results because immediate therapeutic measures highly depend on these parameters, which provide important information on vital functions of the human organism.
To meet these requirements, new diagnostic approaches are required. Point-of-Care-Testing (POCT) is the keyword, i.e. a quick patient-friendly performance of laboratory tests with the help of handy systems, that are easy-to-operate.
